Authentic Montessori learning Environment for 18 month through Kindergarten
M.C.D.C. was founded in 1978 to bring real Montessori learning to Inland North County. Children experience farm animals and gardening in a park-like play area. There is a full compliment of Montessori learning materials in each classroom presented to the children by experienced, caring Montessori teachers.
Academic achievement cannot stand alone, it must be complimented with creativity, security, social graces, empathy, physical fitness and then comes the Joy of Learning.
Children who complete this wonderful program have a love of learning which allows them to be successful and fulfilled as they choose future endeavors.

How long have you been in business?
MCDC opened in September or 1978 with a classroom of 24 students. This year we turn 40.
What is your primary product or service?
We offer authentic Montessori education for students 18 months to 6 years old. The school nestles in to East Poway's foothills in a farm setting, Children enjoy gardening, farm animal experiences along with the Montessori learning materials.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Founding a Montessori school was my dream since i observed this wonderful program first hand. I was fascinated by the independence of the children and the joy that they exuded as the worked side by side on projects i never imagined a child that young could undertake and complete. That was in 1970. I never even thought of being a teacher, did not even like school that much myself. If i had been educated in a Montessori program my attitude may have been different. I was excited to make a difference for young students. I finished college and enrolled in Montessori training, worked 6 years for other schools,
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Our school is unique because our location affords us the opportunity to create a small farm for the children to grow veggies, fruit and collect eggs from the chickens. We also have a pool on property to give swim lessons during the warm summer months.
